
We are thrilled to announce the appointment of David González Escobar as the new official representative of United Through Sports (UTS) in Colombia. David’s dedication to sports and youth development has been a driving force in his career, and we are excited to have him on board.
David comes from Medellin, Colombia, and is fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese. He is an Executive Committee Member of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA), and is the founder of Sport is Your Chance Colombia.

A Journey in Sports
The journey in sports for David began with Taekwondo as a young child. At the age of 25, he discovered Muay Thai and instantly fell in love with the sport. He became an athlete for eight years, a coach for fifteen years, and an administrator for approximately seven years. His experience spans across multiple sports, including Equitation, Taekwondo, and Muay Thai.
David’s background beyond sport is equally amazing. He is an urban architect and holds a master’s degree in landscape design.

Driving Change Through Sports
Inspired by IFMA’s social project, Sport is Your Gang, David founded Sport is Your Chance Colombia seven years ago. His vision is rooted in the belief that small actions can create significant changes. David is committed to providing children with opportunities to belong, feel valued, and fulfill their dreams through the power of sport.
With diverse passions, David is a dog lover and musician, as he is also a professional drummer!

David’s Vision
“As a UTS representative in Colombia, I would like to help strengthen ties of cooperation between our government, Special Olympics, the Colombian Paralympic Committee, local governments, the Medellín Convention Bureau, among others. I would also like to help create new strategies that will allow UTS to have more and more impact globally. I feel so inspired and proud to be part of such a great project like UTS!”
We are excited to have David González Escobar join the UTS family and look forward to the positive changes he will bring in Colombia and beyond.
