United Through Sports Sets the Stage for an Impactful 2025

As the first month of 2025 is coming to an end, United Through Sports (UTS) has been busy gearing up for what promises to be an amazing and impactful year. With a calendar growing busier by the day, filled with events across the globe, the UTS team is excited and hard at work preparing for the months ahead.

In the second week of January, the UTS team convened in Lausanne, Switzerland. Led by President Stephan Fox and CEO Julia Govinden, the team came together to align, strategize and lay the groundwork for 2025 and beyond. Taking advantage of being in the Olympic Capital, the team also held key meetings with both existing and new partners within the international sporting community reaffirming our commitment to advancing UTS’ mission and vision.

2025 is set to be an especially impactful year. Just next month, UTS will travel to Dakar, Senegal, for the 11th edition of the Africa International Sports Convention (CISA). This major event serves as a platform for African and international sports stakeholders to exchange knowledge, share experiences, and address key issues in African sport. Over three days, officials will gather to foster the growth and development of sport across the continent.

For UTS, the CISA Youth Program is an exciting debut in Africa. With the theme “Healthy Lifestyle: Body and Mind,” this initiative aims to leave a meaningful legacy for Senegalese youth. Dakar, the host city of the 2026 Youth Olympic Games, provides the perfect setting to inspire local youth and promote inclusion, non-discrimination, equity, and a healthy & active lifestyle.

In October, UTS will hold its flagship Festival in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Building on previous editions, the event will adopt a two-tier approach, focusing on both youth and international & national sports federations with a mix of sports and education. As with previous editions of the festival, the event will feature Olympic, Paralympic, and Special Olympic sports and activations, demonstrating how sport can break down barriers and include everyone.

Just a month later in November, UTS will take part in the Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh. We are excited to contribute to this event and are currently working with the Islamic Solidarity Sports Association (ISSA) on all the details. More information will be shared in the coming months.
