International Youth Ambassadors bring sporting traditions, education and friendship to Centre Talibou Dabo in Dakar.
DAKAR, SENEGAL – 2 November 2026 – United Through Sports (UTS) brought international Youth Ambassadors, sporting leaders and students together at Centre Talibou Dabo for a vibrant celebration of culture, education and sport, connecting young people through shared experiences and discovery.
Returning two years after its previous visit, UTS transformed the school into a lively sporting festival, introducing children to activities and traditions from around the world.

Centre Talibou Dabo, a public institution supporting the education and rehabilitation of children with disabilities, welcomed the delegation for an interactive programme featuring dominoes, arm wrestling, cheerleading, dance sport and traditional Muaythai. Led by UTS Youth Ambassadors, each activity combined learning with participation. Dominoes encouraged strategic thinking, arm wrestling introduced technique and friendly competition, while cheerleading and dance sport brought music, teamwork and creative expression.

Muaythai demonstrations, including the ceremonial Wai Kru, showcased Thailand’s cultural heritage and the values of respect, discipline and tradition.
The school came alive with music, laughter and enthusiasm as children explored new skills alongside the international delegation. UTS President Fox also joined the celebrations, personally leading a session with the students. Following the activities, the Youth Ambassadors visited classrooms, learning more about the students’ education and daily experiences while connecting with teachers and school leaders.
UTS leadership also met with school representatives to strengthen their partnership. Building on the relationship established two years earlier, UTS committed to an equipment donation to support ongoing sporting activities and discussed opportunities for future cooperation.
UTS CEO Julia Govinden reflected on the importance of the initiative:
“We get to see the joy and positive effects sport brings to the children, and to know that we can be part of making a difference.”
For the students, the day offered an introduction to international sporting traditions. For the Youth Ambassadors, it provided valuable insight into the local community and the role of sport in education.

The visit demonstrated how practical cooperation between international sporting organisations and schools can create lasting opportunities for young people.
At Centre Talibou Dabo, sport became a classroom without borders, bringing cultures together through learning, participation and friendship. United Through Sports, Connecting Cultures, Sharing Knowledge, Building Friendships.
