The 27th August 2019 will go in the history books between Sepaktakraw and UTS as they consolidated their partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding as part of the Septakraw Kings Cup Tournament 2019 in Bangkok.
UTS and ISTAF have already been working together with unified goals leading up to the SportAccord Convention 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand.
Under this relationship, both parties have committed to continue working together promoting sport as a unique and powerful platform towards social change and towards encouraging an active and inclusive lifestyle for youth.
ISTAF Secretary General Mr Halim, welcomed United Through Sports (UTS) CEO Ms Julia Govinden and gave a detailed outline in relation to Sepaktakraw’s social projects and what can be achieved with the continued cooperation with the sport of Sepaktakraw. ISTAF was one of the founding members of UTS as an AIMS member and Mr Halim announced that the ISTAF Board had decided to integrate the social work of UTS into their National Federations.
Ms Govinden applauded and thanked ISTAF for their initiative and congratulated them for their dedicated youth development work. Ms Govinden elaborated on their contribution towards the newly established Bangkok Urban Youth Tournament and their contribution towards both the festival this year on the Gold Coast as part of the SportAccord Convention 2019 and the Bangkok United Through Sports festival in 2018.
