For Suni, sport has always been more than competition it’s been a source of discipline, teamwork, and resilience. A 20-year-old student at Henley Business School, he is currently studying International Business and Management, a field that perfectly aligns with his curiosity about the wider world.
His decision to pursue international business was driven by a lifelong fascination with how companies and people adapt across cultures. He’s always been intrigued by the way small differences, like punctuality in Brazil or greeting customs in Japan can shape business relationships and outcomes. Henley’s reputation for employability and academic excellence made it a natural choice. Known for supporting students well beyond graduation, the school’s focus on practical, global learning mirrors Suni’s own ambitions to work internationally and experience business in different cultural settings.
Born in Richmond and raised in Weybridge, Suni grew up in a close-knit and supportive family. As the youngest of four brothers, he learned early the importance of perseverance and adaptability. Whether it was wrestling matches inspired by WWE or trying to keep up during football games, he was constantly challenged to push his limits.
Those moments taught him that giving up was never an option a lesson that continues to guide him today. His father, a self-made businessman, further reinforced those values by teaching him how to present himself professionally, prepare effectively, and expect the unexpected.
That combination of resilience and encouragement has shaped Suni’s outlook on life. He credits his family’s calm and supportive attitude for helping him develop confidence and independence, qualities that are reflected in how he approaches both study and sport.
A Lifelong Passion for Sport
Sport has been a constant throughout Suni’s life. He’s played football for as long as he can remember, both at school and for his local club, where he served as a key player and captain. His role on the team went beyond scoring goals; as a winger, he focused on motivation and energy, ensuring that teammates stayed driven whether the team was ahead or behind.
That leadership instinct carried into other areas of his life. His approach to sport has always been about mindset and effort, qualities that have continued to define his journey.
His brothers also introduced him to esports, where he discovered a different kind of competition and teamwork. Through games like Call of Duty, Overwatch, and FIFA, he saw that the same principles applied discipline, strategy, and respect for others were just as important online as on the pitch.
Finding Growth Through Challenge
As Suni got older, he began exploring sports beyond football. Windsurfing became one of his most significant challenges and one of his greatest achievements. Learning to balance skill, patience, and perseverance, he went from beginner to advanced within a year. Falling into the water countless times was part of the process, but quitting was never an option. The experience taught him the value of persistence and the satisfaction that comes from progress earned through effort. Windsurfing quickly became one of the most rewarding pursuits of his life, giving him a sense of freedom and accomplishment that strengthened his connection to sport.
More recently, he has taken up Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ). Still a beginner, he views the sport as a new opportunity to start from scratch to learn, improve, and support others as they do the same. Just as his brothers once guided him, Suni now shares small insights with those around him, helping others develop confidence through shared learning.
Sport for Everyone
Suni’s experiences have shaped a strong belief in inclusivity within sport. During primary school, one of his close friends had cerebral palsy and couldn’t play football in the traditional way. Instead of sitting on the sidelines, his friend became the team’s manager, ensuring he remained part of the group and the game.
Seeing his friend’s determination and love for the sport left a lasting impression. It taught Suni that passion, not ability is what defines someone’s connection to sport. He believes no child should feel excluded from physical activity due to disability or circumstance because sport should always be a space for participation, confidence, and belonging.
Resilience as a Way of Life
Growing up with three older brothers and parents who set clear expectations built Suni’s mental strength. When he began windsurfing, his father challenged him to reach a certain level within a set time, a goal that gave him structure and motivation. That sense of direction helped him learn the importance of setting tangible goals and working steadily toward them. Whether in sport, study, or everyday life, he applies the same principle: progress is built through consistency, not shortcuts.
Suni’s story reflects a balance of ambition and humility. His academic path in international business mirrors his belief in adaptability and cross-cultural understanding, while his lifelong dedication to sport shows his commitment to growth, inclusion, and teamwork. Every challenge from learning to windsurf to starting a new in martial arts has reinforced his core philosophy: never give up, and always keep learning.
