“Sport has always been more than a game — it’s a reflection of who we are and what we stand for.”

Growing up in South Africa, Cheyenne witnessed how sport — especially rugby — could unite a nation under one spirit of ubuntu, the belief that “I am because we are.” It showed her that sport has the power to bridge divides and bring people together as one family, no matter who they are or where they come from. She fondly remembers waking up early on cold mornings, pulling on her green-and-gold jerseys, and gathering with family, friends, and neighbour’s at her house to watch national rugby matches on TV. The smell of a sizzling braai filled the air, the streets buzzed with excitement, and the joy of shared victory left an unforgettable mark on her understanding of community.

Her love for sport extended beyond the living room and television screen. Cheyenne played field hockey for six years and captained her youth team, discovering that leadership is about lifting others, fostering inclusion, and ensuring every teammate has the chance to thrive. These early lessons shaped her commitment to equality and resilience, values that continue to guide her today.

A Leader in Sport, Education, and Mentorship

Now living in Thailand for the past five years, Cheyenne has carried her passion for inclusion and equality into every aspect of her life. As a marketing major, she achieved national recognition for creating a hair product designed for people with disabilities — a project that combined creativity, empathy, and a drive to make everyday life more equitable. She also founded the BIG Buddy mentorship program, a program  built around inclusivity, equality, and bringing people together, helping students and young leaders connect, learn, and grow.

Cheyenne’s leadership extended through her role as Student Council President at her university, where she promoted diversity, strengthened sports participation, and created initiatives ensuring that every student felt valued and empowered. Raised by a Thai stepmother, she grew up embracing two cultures, learning compassion, adaptability, and the importance of understanding different perspectives – lessons that continue to shape her work in sport, mentorship, and community building.

Driven by Purpose

Cheyenne’s journey reflects a deep belief that equality is not just an ideal – it is a responsibility. Whether on the field, in the classroom, or through programs like BIG Buddy, she strives to create spaces where everyone has the opportunity to participate, grow, and feel a sense of belonging.

Her story is one of vision, resilience, and impact – from early mornings in South Africa with friends and family gathered around a braai cheering for the national rugby team, to national recognition for her inclusive projects, and now building communities in Thailand that celebrate diversity and fairness.

“Sport taught me that effort matters more than background, that leadership is about lifting others, and that inclusion isn’t just a goal — it’s a way of life. That’s a lesson I’ll carry wherever I go.”
