United Through Sports Celebrates The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China

Chengdu, August 2025 – This week, UTS President Stephan Fox is proudly representing United Through Sports at The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China, showing support for all athletes, coaches, officials, volunteers and the many dedicated youth and adults alike who make these Games possible. The World Games were founded on a powerful vision: to create a one-of-a-kind experience for athletes and host cities, all while inspiring communities through the positive values of sport. The 2025 Games in Chengdu are a perfect embodiment of this mission in action. And what a stage it is!

Chengdu is world-famous as the home of the Giant Panda, a city with deep cultural traditions and a culinary heritage renowned for its bold and spicy Sichuan flavours. The city’s vibrant street life, rich history, and unique natural beauty make it the ideal setting for this global celebration of athletic excellence and cultural exchange.

The 12th edition of The World Games, running from August 7th to 17th, opened with a spectacular ceremony featuring music, dance, and culture reflecting the diversity of the nations represented. The atmosphere was alive with energy and excitement, as thousands of athletes from all corners of the globe came together, united by their passion for sport and their determination to achieve their dreams.

This year marks a historic milestone for The World Games, with a record-breaking 3,942 athletes from 116 countries and regions competing across 34 sports. From thrilling matches to displays of extraordinary skill, the competition promises to inspire and captivate audiences worldwide.

Over the coming days, we’ll see incredible displays of athletic talent, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange. UTS is proud to be part of this historic event and will be cheering on every athlete as they give their all for their sport, their country, and their dreams.
